Palyul
Lineage, Nyingmapa Tradition
Named after the undisputedly most brilliant
scholar of the Nyingmapa tradition. Longchen Rabjampa
(1308-1363), a prolific writer who systematized the
philosophical structures and technical terminology of the
Mahayoga, Anuyoga, and Atiyoga systems (the three highest yoga
systems) in relation to the Sutra (the original teachings of
the Shakyamuni Buddha) and the Shastra (commentaries on the transmissions
of the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha) systems of ancient
India. Longchenpa wrote many highly respected compositions and
was a noted Terma (Hidden Treasure) revealer.
Longchenpa Institute was incorporated in 1999 and received
