Guhyagarbha Tantra Weekend Retreat

September 16th- 18th

Prerequisite ** -Must have received Guhyagarbha or 100 Deities empowerments to attend or Khenchen's personal permission. Contact us if you have not received either one. 540-752-4553

Guhyagarbha Tantra- which translates into Secret Essence of Magical Net, it is one of the main inner trantric texts according to Nyingma School . It is also known as Vajrasattva Magical Net.

This is the 7th year course in Ngagyur Nyingma Institute; we have the opportunity to hear this teaching because of Khenchen's blessings and compassion.

There are so many Indian and Tibetan scholar commentaries on the root text of the Guhya Garbha Tantra. Mipham Rinpoche has written a condense commentary called Sany Nying Chidon Wosel Nyingpo.

In this Tantra it explains the ground, path and fruition of the inner or the higher Tantra, which means the Great Perfection or Dzogchen. It goes through more details about the ten suchness to actualize the whole trantric practice of generation and completion stage to accomplish enlightenment in one life time.

Through this text one can understand the general and essential view of the Secret Essence of clear light and ultimately the absolute nature of phenomena. This is based on the One Hundred Deities practice which is naturally going to appear in the Bardo, the intermediate stage.  If one has this practice and becomes familiar with these One Hundred Deities then there is the possibility of liberation just through recognizing them.

If one could have certainty in the view, through the study of the clear light and the practice of this meditation, then one could attain enlightenment within this life. Or, one could recognize the mother clear light at the moment of dissolution of elements during the time of death. One can easily be liberated and achieve enlightenment just within that moment.

This teaching will continue until the whole text is completed.

Special Program

On Wednesday Sept. 14th ; Khenchen will visit Home of Promise, St. Mary's Home for Disabled Children, and talk about Compassion and Loving kindness to the staff in the school and other units in the hospital. Before the talk, Khenchen will also visit the children, and it is our wish that these children will make the connection with our teacher.

St. Mary Home for Disabled Children is located at Norfolk, VA; together with Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital are under the REACH Program. REACH stands for Raising Expectations and Abilities for Children with complex Health needs. And it is one of the Southeastern Cooperative Educational Program.

We are blessed with health body and mind and the connection to the dharma; let us not forget so much sufferings are right around us and are among the children. Our hearts and prayers go out to them!  If you like to accompany Khenchen to this meaningful trip, you are more than welcome to join us!!

Dana: The teachings are considered priceless, and the teachers offer them freely. It is traditional to make an offering at the conclusion of the teaching. A white scarf (kata) with a dana (generosity) is usually presented to the Rinpoche. The suggested donation is used to help defray the cost of bringing the Rinpoche to Virginia and the operational expenses incurred for maintaining the center.

Sponsorship is greatly appreciated. Full sponsorship at $500 or partial sponsorship at at $250 will be recognized at the end of the empowerment on September 18th, with a gift from Rinpoche. Please make check payable to Longchenpa Institute.

We are seeking sponsors to help us build a Buddhist College, if you are interested, please contact us. If you like to make a donation towards building fund, please make check payable to Longchenpa Institute Building Funds.
