Khenchen
Pema Sherab is the senior Khenpo (professor of Buddhist studies) at Ngagyur
Nyingma Institute in southern India. For more than 25 years, he has taught
both monastic and lay students the view, meditation, conduct, and
fruition of the Nyingma lineage.
Born
in eastern Tibet in 1936, Khenchen was an enthusiastic student form an early
age. After fleeing to India in 1959, he received many teachings in India from
His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, as well as empowerments and teachings
from H.H. Dudjom Rinpoche, H.H. Penor Rinpoche, and H.H. Taklung Tsetrul
Rinpoche.
Khenchen
Pema Sherab has written several books on Buddhist philosophy and logic and a
biography of Guru Padmasambhava. Considered one of the most erudite professors
of the entire Nyingma lineage, Khenchen manages the Ngagyur Nyingma Institute
with great compassion and unfathomable kindness.
Khenchen visited
Virginia from August 18th-24th and gave
teachings on the most popular Mahayana text - The Heart Sutra.
Khenchen also taught Refuge and Bodhicitta
